it all started with a Faerie door...

My love of clay started in the '80s as a young crop farmer's wife in Nebraska. The winters were harsh, to say the least, so I searched for something to keep me busy indoors. I loved crafting, so I started making "salt dough" ornaments for our Christmas tree.

I became obsessed with these wonderful creations and made so many that I started giving them as gifts to my family and friends. Once I got a "real" winter job, I started to give them store-bought gifts instead. They would look at me in dismay and say a meek, "thanks, this is nice, but I loved your handmade ornaments!"

In 2014, I saw a hand building clay class being offered here in Florida and thought I would give it a whirl.  It was in that class I created the faerie door you see here in the photo. That door rekindled the passion within me to create once more and I haven't stopped since!

I have always had a passion for the faerie world and my other hobby... gardening! I love yard art and hopefully, you will enjoy putting some of my treasures in your own backyard!

The leaves used on my plaques are those of Florida native plants. The faerie doors are a perfect fit for the base of a tree in your yard, on a windowsill or at the baseboard in the bedroom of your precious little one to allow the faeries to come and go as they please.

Thank you for visiting, now stay awhile and use your imagination to envision where one of my creations will fit into your world!
